CCL11 (Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 11), also known as eotaxin-1, is a chemokine that plays a key role in the recruitment and activation of eosinophils during allergic responses and inflammatory conditions. It binds to the CCR3 receptor on eosinophils, facilitating their migration to sites of inflammation, particularly in diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and eosinophilic disorders. CCL11 is involved in immune regulation, contributing to the pathogenesis of allergic inflammation and tissue remodeling. Elevated levels of CCL11 have been associated with the severity of asthma and other chronic inflammatory diseases.
