背景
Bacteriophage MS2 is a small, RNA-based virus that infects Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria. It is a member of the Leviviridae family and is one of the most well-studied RNA bacteriophages. MS2 has a simple structure, consisting of a single-stranded RNA genome enclosed in a protein coat. It is used extensively in molecular biology and genetic research as a model organism to study viral replication, RNA structure, and protein-RNA interactions. MS2 was also the first RNA virus to have its entire genome sequenced, making it a significant tool in the study of RNA viruses and their biology.
