背景
KLF5 (Kruppel-like factor 5) is a transcription factor that plays a critical role in regulating various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. As a member of the Kruppel-like factor (KLF) family of transcription factors, KLF5 binds to specific DNA sequences to modulate the expression of genes involved in embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and stem cell function. It is particularly important in the regulation of vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation and function, and has been implicated in the development of cancer, vascular diseases, and fibrosis. KLF5 is also involved in maintaining the balance between cell growth and cell death, making it an important player in both normal cellular processes and disease.
